And the color is BLUE!

For those of you who have been visiting The J. Butler Collection over the years, you know that every year we accent our white and grasscloth space with one color for the season.  This color transforms the space every year and inspires the pieces that I pick for the collection.  This year's color is blue...a deeper blue than I've chosen in the past.  I find it really sharp in the space and I had fun picking a few green pieces to add an unexpected contrast.

J. Butler Collection Opens its Doors...

Just up the steps off of Centre Street, the J. Butler Collection began its season when we opened our doors on Friday June 15th.  Once again we reinvented the color pallette and character of the store for the season.  I am very excited with the selection of unique pieces this year.  I invite you to come in...take your time and truly look at each piece.  These are pieces that caught my eye over the year in my travels and shopping endeavours...pieces that would be wonderful in your island home or home on the mainland.

Dining Room Transformed at Glynallyn

When I envisioned the transformation of the dining room I wanted to showcase modern entertaining and living in a traditional Georgian influenced room.    At this year's Mansion in May the dining room is hosting a refreshing afternoon luncheon, "An Affair at Glynallyn."   The room’s fresh color palette of putties, grays and creams is Gustavian influenced and is complimented by low sheen furniture finishes, classic silverwares, and raw accessories.  My design celebrates the inherent architecture of the room, highlighted by the mantel.  I chose to mix a selection of vintage and antique pieces with clean and fresh fabrics, modern sophisticated china and few selective accessories.  Sometimes I find that there is beauty in restraint....restraint in accessorizing and overdoing a room that is inherently beautiful. Photo by Wing Wong/Memories TTL
